Doug's Comment about Ronnie's health
"Hey everyone,
just wanted to say thanks for the encouraging messages and well wishes. Ill make sure to forward them all to Ronnie.
Sorry I havent been on but didnt really know what to say. It was something that needed to come from Wendy first.

We had rehearsals for the tour right up to the last day before we were schedualled to leave. Then after the last one, we got the news.
Ronnie was there everyday and was in top vocal form as always. But he was having substantial pain in his stomach.

Ive spoken to Ronnie a few times this week and he sounded very upbeat concidering the diagnosis. Very positive and clear about what he needs to do.
Obviously Cancer of any kind, is a really serious/scarry condition. But Ronnie has always been and extrordinary person and I have total believe that he will beat
this and have a successful outcome.

Thanks very much for your support everyone. You guys are very thoughtful and thats gonna help Ronnie.
Ill let you know once I hear anymore news.

DIO Tour Cancelled
The European tour has been cancelled after Ronnie was taken ill.
"Ronnie has been hospitalized and we are waiting for further news,"explains Ronnie's wife/manager, Wendy Dio.

No further information is available at this time, but we wish Ronnie a speedy and complete recovery.

Doug has a baby boy!
Doug's son was burn and he's become a father.
His son's name is Ryder James.  He's at 7.3lbs, 20 inches.
Here is the message from him on his official website.

Big News!!
"Hey everyone,
I have been meaning to let you know sooner, so sorry for the delayed news.
On Aug. 29 my wife gave birth to a BABY BOY!!!
His name is Ryder James. He came in at 7.3lbs, 20 inches.

It was the absolute most amazing thing that I have ever been through and the greatest day of my life.
Words cant describe.....

As some of you know, we have been trying to start a family for a long time.
So I wanted to share the news with you as soon as I could and thank you so much for your prayers
and wishes.

Doug on Cooper Inc.'s new album
Doug played with Christian Tolle again.  Doug played on Christian Tolle Project's album called "The Real Thing" in 2005.  They redid the song "Rain" from "The Real Thing" album in a different version and recorded it on Cooper Inc. new album "Pulling The Trigger".  The album is set for release 9th of October 2009 on CTM christones music / Point Music Distribution.

Doug talks about David Coverdale's condition

Thanks everyone. Im positive David really appreciates your concern and support.
From what I understand, he will make a full recovery. Its just gonna take some time.
Im just very thankful that he stopped and went to the doctor when he did.

You guys are right. No body is and was more bummed than David. The thing with him is
that even when he is tired or sick, he still digs deep and does the same performance
as when he is 100%. I asked him to take it easy that night , but that dude
has the heart of a lion. He just goes for it even if he is is injured, and normally,
he pushes through to a great performance. Obviously this time was very severe, so im happy he stopped.

Thanks for everything this tour. It was awesome to meet up with you all. Hope to see you again soon!

Whitesnake shows were cancelled

"Unfortunately, last night at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver, Whitesnake had to cut their performance short due to Mr Coverdale experiencing considerable pain in his vocal chords. He was immediately taken to a specialist for examination. The specialist discovered that David was suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion. He was instructed to cancel all performances for the next two weeks & then undergo a further examination. The doctors told us we were fortunate this was caught at a stage where no apparent permanent damage has been caused. We therefore regretfully have to announce that Whitesnake will not be appearing on the remainder of the US tour with Judas Priest, Whitesnake sincerely regrets any disappointment this may cause."

Attention all of you who are planning to attend tonight窶冱 concert in Phoenix:
Unfortunately DC has a case of laryngitis and his doctors insist that his show NOT go on tonight as planned. Although Doug is being advertised as a participant in the Sky Academy Concert 2009 W/ Uli Jon Roth, he will not be playing there. He was asked at the beginning if he was interested, but never received any more details regarding the show and was never confirmed. He has just returned from the European Whitesnake tour and is only home for a few days before leaving for the US tour. He currently has family plans which would conflict with the June 18th concert date. He deeply apologizes for anyone who was planning on attending to see him. If anything changes, we will be sure to post it here immediately.

There is no reschedule for this show, so Brussels is the next best location. Please be aware that WS DID NOT CANCEL, it was a problem on the business end of things with the promoter/venue on this one.

Tim "Ripper" Owens Solo Album
Doug plays on Tim "Ripper" Owens' first solo album called "Play My Game".  Owens composed himself or together with renowned friends, such as Bob Kulick, Chris Caffery (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Mike Callahan (ex-Earshot) and John Comprix (Beyond Fear, Ringworm).  And there are many guest appearances in this album ... he was supported by the guitarists Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), Michael Wilton (Queensryche), Jeff Loomis (Nevermore), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), bassists Marco Mendoza (ex-Whitesnake), Billy Sheehan (Mr Big, ex-David Lee Roth), Dave Ellefson (ex-Megadeth), Rudy Sarzo (Dio, ex-Ozzy Osbourne, ex-Quiet Riot), James Lomenzo (Megadeth), Tony Franklin (ex-Blue Murder), Dennis Hayes (Beyond Fear) and drummers Simon Wright (ex-AC/DC, Dio), Vinny Appice (Heaven & Hell), Ray Luzier (Korn), Bobby Jarzombek (Riot, Halford), and Brett Chassen.

WHITESNAKE - DOWNLOAD Festival
WHITESNAKE are very happy to announce they have committed to playing a one-off UK gig in 2009 at the DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL on JUNE 14th with DEF LEPPARD...The show will coincide with action-packed Anniversary releases of the multi-platinum albums, SLIP OF THE TONGUE, marking its 20th Anniversary, & the SLIDE IT IN album, which celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year.

It is understood there is also a SPECIAL EDITION of their award winning, 2008 album, GOOD TO BE BAD, featuring bonus tracks, being released around the same time.

In preparation for the DOWNLOAD show, WHITESNAKE will also be playing 3 weeks of shows around Scandinavia & Europe, starting in NORWAY on the 21st MAY, & will include headlining several festivals, & playing some low key, smaller venues in towns & villages outside of major cities.

WHITESNAKE singer, DAVID COVERDALE, said that in these uncertain times, when it is economically difficult for some people to get to see rock shows in their major cities, then it is the responsibility of the artist to take their music to the people, & thats what WHITESNAKE intends to do, before undertaking a major North American tour in Summer.

WHITESNAKES JUNE 14th show at the DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL will mark the 4th time the band has performed at DONINGTON PARK...1981...1983...1990 & now 2009.
