David Coverdale About Briian Tichy Briian Tichy grew up in New Jersey on a healthy dose of hard rock. He's had an obsession with drums and loud guitar since he was a kid. The fire was lit by Kiss records and his Dad showing him the riff to eDay Tripper'. After many years of dedication and practice by incessantly playing along to his favorite records as well as being in high school metal bands and taking loads of private lessons, Tichy refined his drum and guitar skills by attending Berklee College Of Music, sweating it out for 3 years in the dormitory practice gshedsh. In the midst on playing in a multitude of bands over the past 20 years, Tichy also had his own band, BALL, in which he played guitar, sang and wrote the tunes. They released their debut CD in Japan in 1999 and the US CD never came out due to distribution problems that sunk the label. Since then he has gone on to become a speed bag guru and one of the world's only speed bag-punch drummers. Tichy has also has managed to tour and/or record with the likes of: Foreigner, Billy Idol, Ozzy Osbourne, Lynch Mob, The Guess Who, Velvet Revolver, Seether, Zakk Wylde's Pride & Glory, Slash's Snakepit, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Glenn Hughes, Sass Jordan, Gilby Clarke, Nickelbag (Stevie Salas, Bernard Fowler, Carmine Rojas), and Vinnie Moore. Tichy currently joined up as the new drummer for rock icons Whitesnake. He gladly follows in the footsteps of his idols Ian Paice, Cozy Powell and Tommy Aldridge. (From Chris Frazier Facebook) 2010.06.11 Doug's recent comment on his official board  Hi Jose, Helga, Vanessa, Yuki, Fritz and Janey. Thanks so much for thinking of me. Im doing well. Im just keeping my head down keeping super busy. Im totally inspired, but still hard to believe Ronnie is gone. It all happened way way too fast.... Im up at Tahoe working but the family is still in LA as I drove them back last Friday. I am in the studio all day with the camera on in my kitchen at home so I can watch Ryder when its time to eat! He is doing great. Better than great....Its so funny. Me and David are jamming on new tunes and making funny faces at him at the same time. While he was up here last time, he learned how to play drums on the pots in the kitchen!! He has brought so much happiness and inspiration to me and Mylene. Anyway, like I said, its a wierd time cause everything is moving forward in amazing ways, but when my head clears, I realize that RJD isnt here. I always thought of him at home, working on his music with Simon and the guys and doing his things. But its over and life has to go on. Now Ronnie is with all the other people that we have loved and lost. I cant see him but I feel his presence. I wish I could have seen him before he passed. I wasnt able to but, I am thankful because Mylene and Ryder were able to see him and say goodbye for me. I was on my way back home from Italy. I was planing to see him as soon as I got off the plane, but he was already gone. Like with other loved ones that we lose, I am going to remember all the amazing times that I was fortunate enough to spend with him. One thing that has come to mind a few times recently.....I remember how he would laugh his ass off watching animals. He loved his cats. One time he came over for dinner and was playing with my dog for the whole time. I thought he was just being nice in the beginning ya know, but he didnt stop. We had to drag him away to eat, then he went right back to playing with the dog after dinner. He was laughing so hard playing with the dog, he was crying! It was really pure. Ronnie James Dio Dio's singer, Ronnie James Dio passed away on May 16. Doug joined Dio and made "Killing The Dragon" album in 2002 and toured with this album. And in 2005 Doug helped the band for the tour. I pray his soul may rest in peace .... Message from Wendy Dio Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. I'll just be gone for the weekend 2 days in Italy and then straight back to work on the new WS tunes. I bet I won't even be there long enough to even get jet lag.
